Hello, I'm Rachael Laycock.

Founder & Coach at Move for Mums.

I’m a mum of two, MumSafe-accredited pre and postnatal exercise specialist, and strength coach with over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry. I’m deeply passionate about supporting women to move with confidence and rediscover joy in movement — at every stage of motherhood.

Rachael Laycock, Owner at Move for Mums

Why I created Move for Mums

Move for Mums was born from both professional experience and personal lived experience.

Motherhood can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be isolating. Having navigated my own journey with depression and anxiety, I understand the importance of connection, community, and feeling supported — not just physically, but emotionally too.

I created Move for Mums to be a welcoming, inclusive space where women feel seen, understood, and supported. A place where shared experiences bring people together, and movement becomes a tool for confidence, strength, and connection rather than pressure or punishment.

My approach

Sessions at Move for Mums are grounded in evidence-based strength training and guided by three core pillars: community, connection, and empowerment.

Whether you’re newly postnatal, returning to exercise after a long break, or navigating a new season of life, our training meets you where you are. Classes are thoughtfully programmed, and designed to help you rebuild strength from the inside out.

As a MumSafe-accredited trainer, I specialise in pre and postnatal fitness and take pride in providing a truly tailored experience — ensuring every woman feels safe, supported, and confident in her movement.

Partnership with allied health professionals

Move for Mums works closely with a network of women’s health and allied health professionals. These partnerships allow me to support women navigating concerns such as pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, pain, or injury, and ensure training is appropriate, collaborative, and aligned with professional guidance.

Smart session design and individual considerations are key — helping women move with ease, confidence, and trust in their bodies.

Experience & background

I bring over a decade of experience working with a wide range of clients, alongside part-time work in the local government healthy ageing sector — an area I’m deeply passionate about.

I’ve personally exercised through pregnancy and postnatal recovery and have supported countless mums in the local area to reconnect with their bodies, establish sustainable exercise routines, and build strength that supports everyday life.

Alongside group training, I offer one-on-one coaching for women seeking more personalised support. My experience spans strength and conditioning, kettlebells, TRX, functional movement, boxing, and return-to-running coaching. I’ve been an accredited Level 2 Recreational Running Coach and love helping mums return to running safely and confidently.

More than fitness

Move for Mums is not your average group fitness class. It’s a community where women support one another, build resilience, and grow stronger together — physically and mentally.

My mission is simple: to empower women to move with confidence, feel capable in their bodies, and carry that strength into every part of life.

Join me and become part of the

Move for Mums community.
