Hello, I'm Rachael Laycock.
Founder & Coach at Move for Mums.
I’m a mum of two (soon to be 3), MumSafe-accredited pre and postnatal exercise specialist, and strength coach with over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry. I’m deeply passionate about supporting women to move with confidence and rediscover joy in movement — at every stage of motherhood.

Why Move for Mums exists
Move for Mums was created because women deserve better support through pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood.
Too often, women are left navigating conflicting messages about exercise during these life stages. They're either made to feel fragile and afraid of movement, or pressured to return to before they feel ready. Neither approach gives women the confidence or knowledge they need.
I believe women deserve evidence-based guidance that helps them understand their bodies, build strength confidently and move in a way that supports their life.
Move for Mums bridges the gap by providing realistic and functional coaching, practical education and genuine community. At Move for Mums, exercise is not just about the workout.
It's about building confidence.
It's about understanding your body.
It's about creating strength that supports the things you want to do — whether that's returning to running, lifting weights, playing with your kids or simply feeling like yourself again.
Every woman's journey is different. Your birth experience, recovery, previous exercise history, goals, sleep, stress and everyday demands all influence how we approach movement.
There is no one-size-fits-all pathway.
Through coached sessions, online support and community experiences, Move for Mums creates a space where women feel supported, encouraged and understood.
We educate and empower women to make informed decisions about their bodies and their movement.

What You Can Expect
At Move for Mums, you won't be told to "bounce back."
You won't be judged if your baby cries during a session.
You won't be expected to train like you did before pregnancy.
Instead, you'll be coached with understanding, evidence and encouragement.
You'll learn why you're doing each exercise, how to progress with confidence and how movement can become something that supports you — not another thing demanding your energy.
My goal is simple:
To help women feel strong, capable and confident through pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood.
