My philosophy

Hi, I’m Rachael, mum of two and the proud founder of Move for Mums. I'm so honoured you're here!

With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, I’m deeply passionate about empowering women to build strength, confidence, and connection through functional movement.

I created Move for Mums to address the isolation that can often accompany motherhood. Having been on my own journey with depression and anxiety, I recognise the power of social connection and community. At Move for Mums, every woman is welcomed into a supportive, inclusive space where shared challenges are understood, and bonds are forged.

Sessions are grounded in evidence-based strength training methods and guided by the core pillars of Move for Mums: community, connection, and empowerment. Whether you became a mother six weeks ago or sixty years ago, our low-impact classes are designed to meet you where you are.

As a MumSafe-accredited trainer, I specialise in pre and postnatal fitness. I pride myself on providing a truly tailored experience to ensure every woman, regardless of her age or stage of motherhood, receives the support she needs to safely navigate her fitness journey.

Through strong partnerships with a network of allied health professionals, I ensure each woman receives safe exercise guidance. Our smart session design focuses on rebuilding strength from the inside out, helping women move with confidence and ease.

Move for Mums is not your average group fitness class, it’s a community where women thrive together. We’re not just building strength; we’re building connection and resilience that will carry us through the challenges of motherhood.

My experience

I bring over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, where I’ve had the privilege of helping a wide range of clients improve their health and achieve their goals. I’m deeply passionate about ageing well, balancing my business with part-time work in the local government’s healthy ageing sector.

In addition to being Safe Return to Exercise accredited, I’ve personally navigated exercise during both my pregnancies and postnatal recoveries. Since founding Move for Mums, I’ve had the pleasure of supporting countless mums in the Montrose area to reconnect with their bodies, rediscover the joy of movement, and establish regular exercise routines.

Alongside my group-based program, I also offer one-on-one sessions to help clients reach their goals more quickly. My qualifications and experience span a variety of functional training modalities, including strength and conditioning, kettlebells, TRX suspension training, animal flow, boxing, and more.

As a keen runner and an accredited Level 2 Recreational Running Coach since 2018, I’m passionate about helping mums safely return to running after the birth of their little ones.

At Move for Mums, my mission is to empower women to move with confidence, rediscover the joy of exercise, and build lasting strength that will support them well into the future.

Join me on this journey and become part of our growing community!
